A partner at Odelson & Sterk, Ltd., Michael Stillman brings significant trial experience in many areas of complex legal defense litigation. Additionally, he has a wealth of experience in representing units of local government, including municipalities.
Mike is a 1991 graduate of Bradley University, which honored him with its Outstanding Young Graduate award in 2005. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 1994 from DePaul University School of Law, and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, United States District Court of Illinois, and the Supreme Court of the United States. In 2018, Mike was chosen by his peers to be among the less than 5% of licensed Illinois attorneys with the distinction of Leading Lawyer.
Mike has tried over 40 cases to verdict throughout Illinois, including medical malpractice cases, complex civil litigation, and construction litigation. Prior to joining Odelson & Sterk, Ltd., he was a managing shareholder of a mid-size Chicago litigation law firm.
As a village attorney, Mike provides legal advice to the Village President and Village Board. He also serves as general counsel for park districts and school districts, and previously was a Special Illinois Attorney General and Special Will County State’s Attorney. Currently, he serves as special outside counsel in major litigation and workers’ compensation matters.
Mike has served on many not-for-profit boards, including Little Company of Mary Affiliates Board and Brother Rice Board of Directors. Previously, he served as an elected board member to the Community High School District 218 Board for eight years, six of which he served as president. He was also an elected trustee in Worth Township for four years. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Brother Rice High School Foundation Board.
Mike lives in the Southwest suburbs. He is the father to 2 teenage children
